Terms of service.

Cairn is offered for your personal, non-commercial use as a planning tool. To create an account you must be at least 18 years old, hold a valid Google account, and provide accurate information when prompted. One human, one account.

Cairn reads data from your bank, brokerage, and credit-card accounts through Plaid. By linking an account, you authorize Plaid to share the data described in our Privacy Policy with Cairn, and you authorize Cairn to read it on an ongoing basis until you disconnect. Plaid's own handling of your data is governed by Plaid's End User Privacy Policy.

You can revoke that access at any time by disconnecting the institution from Accounts or by deleting your Cairn account from Settings. When you do, Cairn calls Plaid's /item/remove endpoint and stops pulling fresh data.

Cairn provides information about your finances. It does not provide advice. Nothing in the app — the dashboards, the signals, the planner scenarios, the AI chat — is a recommendation to buy, sell, hold, or rebalance any security or product.

Cairn is not a registered investment advisor, broker-dealer, accountant, tax preparer, or attorney. Using Cairn does not create a fiduciary relationship between you and us. Before acting on anything you see in Cairn, verify it with your bank, brokerage, or a qualified professional.

Cairn shows data sourced from third parties (Plaid and your institutions). That data may be delayed, incomplete, or incorrect. We do our best to surface it faithfully, but balances, transaction categories, and holdings should be treated as a working picture, not a system of record. Reconcile important figures with your institution before relying on them.

You agree not to:

• Access Cairn through automated means, scrape the app, or run load against it
• Use Cairn to store data about anyone other than yourself
• Attempt to reverse-engineer the service, probe for vulnerabilities, or interfere with other users
• Use Cairn for anything illegal, fraudulent, or in violation of your institution's terms

We may suspend or terminate accounts that engage in any of the above.

Cairn is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy of data. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that defects will be corrected.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cairn and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your use of the service, including any financial decision you make in reliance on the information Cairn presents.

Our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to these terms or the service will not exceed one hundred US dollars (USD $100).

You may stop using Cairn and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we discontinue the service.

On termination, we delete the data described in the Privacy Policy and revoke our Plaid access. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — disclaimers, liability limits, indemnities — will survive.

We will update these terms when the service changes. For any material change — a new fee, a meaningful new obligation — we'll notify you by email before the change takes effect. Continued use of Cairn after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or related to these terms or the service will be resolved in the courts located in that jurisdiction.
